The new portal was created to best represent the two facets that define our company: on one hand, the experience of PBG, a long-established Italian firm specializing in the production of piezoelectric quartz and the supply of materials and components for PVD processes, and on the other, Coerent Vacuum Coating Solutions, a benchmark in the design, manufacture, and technical support of high-vacuum thin-film deposition systems.
Over 75 years of experience and innovation
PBG’s origins date back to 1947, when the company began producing its first quartz crystals for civil telecommunications equipment. Over the years, technological evolution and continuous research led the company to specialize in the manufacture of piezoelectric quartz crystals for thin-film deposition monitoring; today, these are used in PVD processes across the optics, ophthalmic, and automotive sectors, as well as in numerous high-tech industrial applications.
Since 1999, Coerent has expanded its operations by developing PVD systems for high-vacuum thin-film deposition, offering solutions designed to meet the production needs of companies of all sizes. System manufacturing is complemented by a highly specialized technical support service, which is also available for systems produced by other manufacturers.
